Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0630–1900 / 1830–0700) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patient populations
• Operate within a dyad care model, working alongside a dedicated CNA and a virtual nurse to deliver coordinated patient care at a 1:6–7 ratio
• Monitor and manage patients on telemetry, utilizing both bedside and centralized telemetry stations
• Administer and titrate Heparin drips as indicated; collaborate with 24-hour on-floor Respiratory Therapy as needed
• Float to PCU or Burn units as required based on staffing needs
• Adhere to all facility policies, including dress code (navy blue scrubs) and strict artificial nail prohibition in all patient care areas

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills exam during orientation week with a minimum score of 90%

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, orthopedic, or similar acute care setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and centralized telemetry systems
• Experience working within team-based or virtual care nursing models
