Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and electrical systems, and facility equipment within a metal fabrication and machining environment. Working as a one-person department, this role implements and manages a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for production equipment, including CNC machines, plasma tables, saws, and robotic welders, while also performing basic building maintenance such as sinks, desks, and shelving.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process, including CNC machines, plasma tables, saws, and robotic welders.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components to minimize equipment downtime.
• Implement, manage, and continuously improve a preventive maintenance program for all production equipment.
• Perform routine inspections on machinery and systems to identify potential problems and schedule corrective maintenance.
• Maintain and repair heating systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, and power material moving equipment.
• Carry out basic building and facility maintenance, including sinks, desks, shelving, and other general infrastructure needs.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities based on production needs and equipment condition to support efficient operations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and procedures and promote a safe working environment.
• Operate tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks, including welding and fabrication tools, in a safe and effective manner.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing repairs on CNC equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Hands-on experience with welding equipment and techniques used in maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in facilities maintenance, including basic building repairs and general upkeep.
• Ability to work independently as the sole maintenance technician, managing priorities and workload.
• Solid understanding of safety practices related to machinery, electrical systems, and fabrication environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting metal fabrication and machining operations.
• Comfort working with a variety of production equipment, including robotic welders and plasma tables.
• Ability to develop and refine maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills to track maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with leadership and production teams on maintenance needs.

Work Environment

This role operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility is a metal fabrication and machining environment that is well lit and clean, offering a comfortable and organized workspace. You will work as a one-person maintenance team, using standard maintenance tools, welding equipment, and production machinery in a shop designed to support efficient, safe operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of STURTEVANT, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr. Health insurance is offered through HealthEZ's Aetna provider network. Coverage eligibility is the first of the month following date of hire. Employees contribute a portion through pre-tax payroll deductions and the Company contributes the remaining amount. 1 week of PTO to start I have full benefits overview for candidates to review
