Optimize website performance through technical SEO for our e-commerce clients

Reports To: Head of SEO and COO

Location: Austin, Texas - In-office at our downtown location (2 days per week) Remote (3 days per week)

Main Accountabilities

• You will ensure the success of a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients by implementing cutting-edge technical SEO strategies. Delivering results under tight deadlines is crucial, as poor outcomes directly impact client retention and satisfaction.
• Strategize, build, and execute advanced technical SEO audits and optimizations. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical SEO issues across multiple websites, ensuring optimal performance and search engine rankings for our clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with your own set of clients, regularly communicating updates and progress via Slack and Google Meet.
• You'll play a key role in training and mentoring new and existing team members within the SEO department. Your expertise will also contribute to refining and improving our internal SEO processes.
• As a Technical SEO Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to specialize in a core area of technical SEO, such as site performance optimization, mobile-first indexing, or structured data implementation, enhancing your value to the team and the agency's competitive edge.
• Work closely with the Head of SEO to align on activity, progress, and strategy. This role is a stepping stone to advanced technical SEO roles within the agency.
• Provide expertise on current best practices in SEO, including but not limited to on-page optimization, site architecture, technical audits, page speed optimization, mobile SEO, and analytics tools.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in SEO by engaging in continuous learning, research, and professional development.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate across the company to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
• Adopt a client-first mindset, thinking from the perspective of your clients to deliver outstanding SEO results.

Success In 6 Months

• Demonstrate consistent performance across your client base by delivering technical SEO improvements that drive higher search engine rankings, increased traffic, and better conversion rates.
• Conduct impactful training sessions for the SEO team and mentor them on a daily basis, sharing your technical expertise.
• Proactively suggest and implement new ideas to enhance the agency's SEO processes, contributing to overall efficiency and client success.
• Receive praise from the Head of SEO, recognizing your role in driving significant growth and improvements in a short period.

Success In 12 Months

• Establish an impeccable track record of driving results for your clients, with a few standout cases where you've completely transformed their website's performance and visibility.
• Be entrusted with managing high-profile, complex clients, with the confidence of the management team in your ability to deliver exceptional results.
• Play a key role in introducing new technologies or processes within the agency, improving client satisfaction, team efficiency, or overall profitability.

Success In 24 Months

• Progress to a senior technical SEO role, with a reputation for excellence in the industry.
• Implement several new processes or technologies that have a lasting impact on the agency's success and client outcomes.
• Significantly contribute to the upskilling of the SEO team, mentoring colleagues to a level where they can handle high-stakes clients independently.

Experience & Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in technical SEO, with a strong track record of delivering results for e-commerce brands.
• Previous agency experience is ideal. If not, extensive experience working within a high-performing e-commerce environment is necessary.
• A broad understanding of SEO, including advanced knowledge of technical SEO aspects like site architecture, page speed, mobile optimization, and analytics tools.
• Strong research skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new industries and markets to provide tailored SEO solutions.
