Position Title Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant SC & NC Location Maitland, FL (Hybrid preferred; remote considered) Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET Salary Range $70,000–$90,000 Company Overview A leading privately owned Third Party Administrator (TPA) dedicated to supporting workers' compensation claims for global clients. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Consultant who will manage a complex portfolio of claims, leading thorough investigations, guiding claim strategy, and ensuring fair, timely resolutions. This position offers a pathway to senior claim roles and requires proven Workers’ Compensation claims experience. Responsibilities Investigate, evaluate, and adjust claims in accordance with established standards and laws. Establish reserves and provide reserve recommendations within authority limits. Review, approve, or provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates, and invoices; negotiate disputed bills or invoices for resolution. Authorize and make payments of claims using the claim payment program within established authority. Negotiate settlements in accordance with Corporate Claim Standards, client instructions, and state laws when appropriate. Assist in the selection, referral, and supervision of claim files sent to outside vendors (e.g., legal, surveillance, case management). Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution. Maintain a personal diary on the claim system. Ensure client satisfaction. Prepare reports detailing claim status, payments, and reserves. Compute disability rates according to state laws. Coordinate communication with clients, claimants, and parties throughout the adjustment process. Prepare newsletter articles when requested. Provide notices of qualifying claims to excess/reinsurance carriers. Handle complex claims with minimum supervision. Conduct claim reviews and training sessions for clients. Attend hearings, mediations, and informal legal conferences as appropriate. Comply with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client instructions. Required Qualifications Five or more years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Adjuster’s license and experience in NC & SC. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Bilingual Spanish proficiency (highly valued).
