HR & Legal Operations Lead

Role Summary The Human Resource Specialist will report to the Vice President of Human Resource Programs and, as part of the Associates Services team, be involved in HR operations and overall management of the corporate office. Responsibilities Recruit for open SG&A positions: sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference verification, background screening, and onboarding. Partner with third‑party recruiting firms to fill additional positions. Onboard SG&A new hires, ensuring all documentation is received and recorded in Workday. Work cross‑functionally to ensure an excellent new hire experience. Maintain and deliver New Hire Orientation webinars for the U.S. Coordinate with field HR professionals to keep employment records and data in Workday HRIS compliant with state, federal, and company regulations. Execute and process severance agreements in partnership with the VP of Human Resource Programs and Director of Payroll. Facilitate wellness programs with the VP of Human Resource Programs. Prepare information for annual audits, surveys, tax returns, and other compliance reporting. Manage all HR legal records requests to ensure timely and accurate responses. Conduct background screenings and employment verifications. Review unemployment claims and leaves of absence with third‑party vendors. Maintain and manage all HR files, including centralized I‑9 files for North America. Lead company‑wide communications via Microsoft Outlook email distribution and mail merge. Develop and deliver HR training materials for North America, creating and maintaining documentation for the Zep HR team. Support annual open enrollment execution: planning, communication, and employee education. Conduct live and virtual sessions explaining benefit options and changes. Serve as primary contact for benefit billing invoices in Concur and other vendor invoices. Qualifications 3‑5 years of experience in Human Resources operations support, recruiting, and/or as an HR Generalist. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Experience sourcing and engaging candidates across a wide range of roles. Experience working with an HRIS; strong preference for Workday. Proactive self‑starter with a passion for new challenges and innovative solutions. Exceptional teamwork, adaptability, critical‑thinking, and multi‑tasking skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive personnel issues. Enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent customer service orientation. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
