This established, small-animal practice operates inside a well-trafficked retail setting with convenient, predictable hours (generally 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. weekdays and 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Saturdays). The hospital provides preventive care, wellness and vaccinations, dermatology and skin care, behavior evaluations, nutrition counseling, orthopedic evaluation, and general surgery including dentistry and spay/neuter. On-site diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing support efficient case workups. The environment is fast-paced and client-facing, with a supportive culture that empowers technicians to work at the top of their license. The team embraces structured training, consistent clinical standards, wellness plans, and telehealth support to enhance client education and continuity of care.

- Provide medical leadership across assigned hospitals, fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture and high clinical standards
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain associate veterinarians; develop individualized coaching plans and growth pathways
- Oversee medical quality through case and medical record reviews, audits, and patient safety event follow-up
- Deliver clinical care in hospital; time in appointments/surgery flexes with team and site needs
- Partner with practice management to meet operational and clinical goals, monitor KPIs, and improve appointment flow
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including pharmacy and controlled substance management; serve as Responsible Veterinarian as required
- Champion preventive care, client communication, wellness plans, and telehealth-enabled service
- Manage medical equipment needs and participate in inventory planning and requests
- Address escalated client concerns related to medical care promptly and professionally
- Full-time, hospital-based schedule aligned with clinic hours, including some Saturdays Requirements
- DVM/VMD from an accredited institution
- Active Virginia veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven competency in general surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building experience; multi-site leadership preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; comfortable in a fast-paced, client-centric setting Apply
