Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: NC or Compact license in hand Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 is required. Familiarity with charting systems, preferably Epic, is preferred. Prior experience in community hospital settings is preferred. Experience in LTAC and Trauma Level I or II is preferred. Description: The role requires a registered nurse specializing in cardiovascular pediatric intensive care. The candidate will provide critical care to patients with complex congenital heart conditions. The nurse will administer therapies, medications, and treatments per established protocols. The candidate must monitor vital signs and respond to any changes in patient status. A thorough understanding of advanced medical procedures such as ECMO, CRRT, and ventilator management is necessary. The registered nurse must collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care. Participation in maintaining infection control protocols is mandatory. The nurse will be expected to assist with various procedures, including intubation and central line management. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Floating to other areas may also be required based on unit needs. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents is essential. Candidates should be prepared to handle a pediatric patient population with varying diagnoses and conditions. Adherence to compliance and attendance policies is crucial for maintaining contract obligations. Traveling nurses will be expected to become familiar with local protocols and procedures.
