Scientist, Analytical Research and Development (Onsite)

Merck's Small Molecule Analytical Research and Development group seeks a Scientist to support drug development through analytical characterization and GMP testing of APIs, formulations, and manufacturing processes. The role involves method validation, stability testing, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in Rahway, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Execute GMP activities including release and stability testing for APIs and pharmaceutical formulations
• Validate and implement analytical methods to support clinical material testing
• Document experiment procedures, results, and conclusions following ALCOA principles
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges and investigate issues through cross-functional collaboration
• Perform data review, entry, and author analytical reports and data summaries

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Life Sciences with 3+ years industry experience
• Master's degree in Chemistry or related field with some relevant industry experience acceptable
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional team environments
• Hands-on experience in GMP operations and analytical techniques such as chromatography or spectroscopy
• Experience with analytical method development, assay design, and laboratory techniques
• Familiarity with LIMS, Empower software, LCMS, or data science preferred

Compensation: $87,300–$137,400 base
