Check out our website to discover the Tenneco Way.About The RoleThe Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising hourly direct and indirect labor employees and all manufacturing activities within assigned areas and for utilizing available resources in the most efficient and economical manner consistent with standard work procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and safety parameters. This position will report directly to Napoleon Operations Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate continuous improvement by leading the attainment of shop-floor Business Operating System (BOS) metrics to support the plant's annual goalsPromote and enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly, and organized floor in compliance with – and in support of – our 5-S Process for the specific purpose of reducing on-the-job injuries and the Total Event Rate (TER)Plan, coordinate, and supervise the activities of assigned personnel to efficiently and productively meet production schedules and to hold employees accountable for their performanceUtilize available resources to meet customers' needs and established quality standardsAdminister and enforce Company policies and plant rules and issue discipline as appropriate, in conjunction and coordination with the Human Resources ManagerEnsure effective employee/labor relations in a union environment, treating our people with dignity and respect and handling first-step grievances through appropriate answers in accordance with the Collective Bargaining AgreementContinuously monitor equipment and coordinate operational issues with Maintenance to ensure optimal machine up-time and minimal downtimeRemain constantly vigilant for TVM opportunities and cost-reduction ideas and implement such actions that are deemed worthwhile in a timely mannerParticipate in all applicable elements of the ISO 14001 and TS 16949 standards to ensure the plant is continuously prepared for internal and external auditsCoordinate production schedules with Production Planning to ensure 100% on-time deliveries to our customer baseAdminister labor cards dailyImmediately report workplace illnesses and injuries to Human ResourcesUnderstand roles and responsibilities during an emergency and be able to take control of the situation to protect property, personnel, and equipmentWork across boundaries to improve business, empower people to grow and achieve, and promote collaboration and teamwork across organizational linesAnticipate and take proactive action to meet customer needs, continually seeking ways to increase customer satisfactionWork effectively under stressful conditions, adjust to multiple and conflicting demands, demonstrate resilience under ambiguous and changing circumstances, modify behavior and properly plan to attain goalsCommunicate clearly and effectively even when relating complex information, tailor the message to the audience, promote a free flow of information through the organization, listen activelyGather relevant information systematically, consider a broad range of issues or factors, grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues, use accurate logic in analysesMaintain current knowledge of the profession, functional area, and industry, access and use other resources when appropriate, utilize cross-disciplinary knowledge in evaluating issues/problemsEducation:High school diploma or GED; college degree preferredSkills & Experience:2-5 years experience in manufacturing supervision or related activitySound communications skillsStrong interpersonal abilitiesAbility to efficiently use computer software, including Word, Excel, Access, and Lotus NotesFlexibility and willingness to work any shift and/or split shifts
