Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy technician role is available for a remote position supporting Medicare Part B pharmacy operations. This temp-to-hire opportunity requires expertise in prior authorizations and utilization management within the Medicare population.

Responsibilities include reviewing and processing prior authorization requests following established policies and decision trees. You will triage incoming requests from provider offices and support preferred product strategies for Medicare Part B medications. Key duties involve contacting providers and hospitals to obtain necessary clinical documentation, communicating authorization decisions, and assisting members or providers when alternative treatment options are needed. The role also offers operational support to pharmacy staff and acts as a liaison for internal teams, external providers, and offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management workflows. Additionally, interpreting plan benefits and entering specialty pharmacy overrides to ensure proper claims adjudication is part of the daily responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

• Pharmacy Technician Certified (PTCB) credential is mandatory
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Experience with Medicare Part B operations, including utilization management, prior authorizations, medical benefits, or pharmacy help desk
• Familiarity working with the Medicare patient population
• Strong computer proficiency across multiple systems and Google Workspace/G Suite
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Prior utilization management and prior authorization experience strongly preferred

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, with two shifts available: 11:30 AM–8:00 PM ET or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM ET
• Mandatory rotating weekend shifts
• No days off permitted from January 1 to March 31, except emergencies

This contract role begins October 1 and runs through March 31, with potential for permanent hire following the contract period.
