Project Director, Peptide API (Hybrid)

Project Director role overseeing strategic peptide API manufacturing projects in the United States. Responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing capital projects, implementing advanced technologies, and delivering projects on time and within budget while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic peptide manufacturing projects to achieve charter, priorities, and milestones within the US
• Manage complex capital projects ensuring compliant, timely delivery while maintaining zero incidents and EHS standards
• Direct all project phases from business case through execution, managing cost, scope, and quality adherence
• Drive transformation initiatives to reduce project timelines by 20% through best-in-class technology and AI integration
• Collaborate with procurement, quality, engineering, and R&D to align decisions and manage external consultant and contractor relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field; Master's in Engineering or MBA preferred
• 15+ years as Senior Engineering, Projects, or Operations Leader across multiple technologies
• In-depth expertise in AbbVie manufacturing technologies including biologics, small molecule APIs, medical devices, and packaging
• Proven leadership of large cross-functional teams with executive communication skills
• Strong negotiation abilities and functional knowledge of manufacturing, quality, supply chain, engineering, and finance
• Business acumen with direct financial planning, budgeting, and P&L responsibility experience
• Ability to mentor leaders and drive change in matrixed global organizations
