Your Role at Tessy The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for preventing workplace incidents and injuries. They will assist with the development, evaluation, improvement, and maintenance of policies to ensure the safety of Tessy’s employees, property, and the environment. They must work closely with other departments across the company to determine the proper application of these policies, advance the EHS program, and maintain compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations and Customer requirements. What You’ll Be Doing Collaborate across departments and facilities to sustain a positive safety culture. Evaluate work practices and work areas to identify and assess potentially hazardous conditions. Establish new procedures and programs to mitigate identified uncontrolled or inadequately controlled hazards. Analyze incident reports and injury trends to identify areas of higher concern where mitigation efforts should be focused. Deliver necessary EHS trainings, completing required documentation and tracking renewal intervals where applicable. Develop training programs for newly established EHS policies and programs. Conduct periodic EHS inspections and take corrective action when deficiencies are identified. Develop new inspections and associated schedules for newly established policies and programs. Coordinate and conduct investigations of incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement measures to avoid reoccurrences. Report incidents as required and maintain all applicable documentation. Develop and track leading and lagging KPIs in order to assist with proactively addressing unidentified safety concerns. Serve as a subject matter expert for EHS related issues. Stay up to date on changing requirements and best practices through individual research and attending training events to continuously improve the performance of the EHS program. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Environmental Management System and all applicable Local, State, and Federal regulations. What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 4 or more years of manufacturing EHS or relevant experience; ASP, or CSP certification is desirable. Must possess and demonstrate an acceptable level of knowledge within the following fields: Government (OSHA/EPA) regulations, industrial hygiene, hazardous and universal waste handling, occupational health and safety management. Requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, governmental and customer requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as write routine reports, procedures, and correspondence. Ability to solve problems, have critical thinking, and mathematical proficiency. Preferred experience working with ISO Management Systems (ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018). Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to lead and drive a safety culture across multiple sites. Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to efficiently complete assigned work while utilizing tools, computers, and safety devices. Compensation: Annual Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
