Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong neuro/spine experience for a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital assignment.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit in a Level I and Level II trauma teaching hospital,
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM,
• 1:1 patient ratio,
• Cerner charting system preferred,
• Mandatory floating required, including serving as a Patient Observer/Sitter,
• Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required, including at least 50% of holidays during the contract,

Job Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration,
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience required,
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required,
• Strong neuro/spine surgical experience required,
• Experience with vascular, neurology, orthopedic, robotic, ENT, and surgical oncology procedures preferred,
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, neuro/spine, orthopedic, robotic, and ENT procedures,
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7/365, with exposure to patients who may have contagious illnesses,
• Rotating shifts required, including work during inclement weather,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply,
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be considered at a local rate,
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation,
• Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity,
• Annual and orientation training modules required, averaging 4-6 hours and varying by specialty
