Loan Servicing & Admin Specialist

Job Summary

A boutique private money lending firm in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking an experienced Loan Servicing & Admin Specialist to manage complex real estate loans from routine servicing through default resolution, foreclosure, REO management, and final disposition.

This is a direct hire opportunity for a loan servicing professional who wants more ownership than a traditional payment processing role. You will play a key role in protecting investor interests by administering and enforcing loan terms, managing sensitive borrower and investor communications, and coordinating with trustees, attorneys, and bankruptcy counsel.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day loan servicing activities, including payments, payoffs, reconveyances, borrower communication, and investor communication.
- Monitor delinquencies, senior liens, property taxes, insurance, and other risk indicators to identify and address loan issues early.
- Negotiate with borrowers on workouts, loan modifications, forbearance agreements, and other resolution strategies.
- Manage Notice of Default and foreclosure processes from start to finish in partnership with foreclosure trustees and legal counsel.
- Coordinate bankruptcy, eviction, possession, and legal matters with attorneys to protect the loan and investor position.
- Manage REO properties acquired through foreclosure, including property protection, management, marketing, sale coordination, investor approvals, distributions, final payouts, and entity wind-down.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage loan servicing, default administration, foreclosure coordination, and investor communication for private money or commercial real estate loans.
- Administer loan resolution processes from first missed payment through workout, foreclosure, REO sale, and final disposition.
- Coordinate with foreclosure trustees, attorneys, bankruptcy counsel, and related third parties.
- Protect investor interests by enforcing the terms of the note, deed of trust, and related loan documents.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant loan servicing, loan administration, private money lending, or commercial real estate lending experience.
- Hands-on experience managing defaulted loans, foreclosure processes, workouts, and borrower resolution strategies.
- Strong knowledge of California real estate lending, foreclosure processes, lien monitoring, taxes, insurance, and loan payoff requirements.
- Experience communicating with investors, borrowers, foreclosure trustees, attorneys, and bankruptcy counsel.
- Ability to manage sensitive financial and legal matters with accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track deadlines, documentation, approvals, and multiple loan files.
- Professional communication style with the ability to keep investors informed and confident during challenging loan situations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make practical judgment calls with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with California private money lending or hard money lending environments.
- Prior experience managing REO assets, property disposition, investor distributions, or entity wind-down after sale.
- Familiarity with bankruptcy, eviction, possession, and foreclosure-related legal workflows.
- Experience working in a boutique lending firm, private lender, real estate investment company, or specialized commercial real estate finance environment.
