Account Manager (Insurance)

Avalon Risk Management (“Avalon”) is a specialty insurance broker with offices throughout the U.S. and Canada. Avalon is a privately held company owned by our founding management team and we have celebrated over 25 years of success. We are looking for a full-time Account Manager. This position is based out of our international headquarters located at 200 N. Martingale Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60173. This role will expose you to our clients, the importing/exporting industry, and the various international programs we manage. We are looking for a full time highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. You must have some commercial insurance experience and we are exclusively looking for candidates with an active IL Property & Casualty license. Preference will be given to those with industry experience (such as cargo lines or US customs bonds), or formal business education. This position entails: Servicing a book of business and working with clients to answer policy questions, update account changes, assist with premium collections, fielding phone calls, and more. Working within our Agency Management System, EPIC and INDIO to create marketing submissions, proposals, Binders, and Certificate of Insurance to name a few. In addition to an active IL P&C license candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will require a strong work ethic, close attention to detail, and flexibility. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong organizational skills, excellent computer skills in addition to the ability to work independently and with a team. Experience using the EPIC system is preferred. The base compensation range is $55,000 - $65,000per year, dependent on experience. Our incentive structure allows the team to earn a base salary and bonus potential. Avalon sets our team’s goals to align their efforts with corporate goals.
