Labor and Delivery Nursing - Registered Nurse - Travel
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse for a temporary assignment in Moses Lake, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Location: Moses Lake, Washington
Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $75 - $81/hr
Responsibilities for a L&D:
Function as both a caregiver and care manager, assuming responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process
Perform assessment and data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status
Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner by utilizing and adhering to pre-determined procedures, policies, and care plans
Identify patient and significant other learning needs, readiness for learning, and implement patient teaching as defined by policy and care plans
Document in patient charts via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per policy and in accordance with all regulatory requirements
Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to patient, significant other, and family rights regardless of race, age, religion, color, creed, sex, national origin, or any other protected classification
Demonstrate appropriate delegation of patient care activities and effectively supervise assigned coworkers
Demonstrate effective organization and priority setting utilizing sound critical thinking
Demonstrate appropriate use of lines of authority
May be required to function as a Charge Nurse, including delegation of patient assignments, assisting with admits/discharges/transfers, coordinating staff coverage, and serving as unit lead
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current in field of expertise
Function with awareness of and adherence to safety requirements including security, MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting, and body mechanics
Ensure compliance with organization policies, procedures, and labor agreements
Conduct interactions with team members and support groups in a courteous and efficient manner
Maintain current Washington State RN Licensure
Maintain HCP Level BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire
For Family Birthing Unit: Obtain AAP NRP Advanced certification prior to end of orientation, renewed every 2 years
For Family Birthing Unit: Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
For Family Birthing Unit: Complete STABLE course within 6 months of completing orientation, renewed every 2 years (optional)
For Family Birthing Unit (L&D RNs): Obtain AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 3 months of completing L&D training, renewed every 2 years
Demonstrate competency in caring for patients across the age continuum
Demonstrate competency on department-specific equipment
