Tax Senior Associate

Job Description

As a Tax Senior working mainly in the international area, you will be managing all types of projects, both small and large. You may be working on the return of a CEO of a Fortune 500 company or on a nonresident return. You may be figuring out GILTI provisions or reviewing the treaty implications of an estate tax return. Therefore, strong technical skills, initiative, and a strong work ethic are vital to this role. A Tax Senior is responsible for many types of compliance including preparation and review and signing of corporate, partnership and personal income tax returns.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of a portfolio of High Net Worth clients – some simple, some very complex.
• Provide timely tax compliance and reporting on federal, state and local tax issues
• Prepare and review income tax returns.
• Utilize technology to continually learn and deliver high level client service
• Provide mentoring and coaching to client service staff
• Meet with clients to gather information.
• Strategically work with managers on staffing requirements, management of compliance deadlines, and other such duties.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a public accounting firm
• Experience with individual income taxation for high net worth taxpayers
• 4+ years federal tax experience in public accounting
• Big Four Experience a major PLUS
• International tax experience is preferred.
• Must be self starter and unafraid to ask questions
• Candidates must be a candidate at least for a CPA license or be willing to become an Enrolled Agent. Strong communication skills and the ability to build client relationships are essential.
