Senior Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join their corporate accounting team. This is a high-visibility leadership role for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys driving operational excellence, improving processes, and leading teams in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this individual will play a key role in overseeing the monthly close process, strengthening accounting operations, supporting compliance initiatives, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency through technology and automation. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and a track record of taking ownership, solving complex problems, and delivering meaningful improvements. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for a major business segment Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, and established internal control processes Support internal and external audit activities and serve as a key accounting partner during audit engagements Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, including direct reports and shared service resources Promote accountability, process consistency, and continuous improvement within the accounting organization Evaluate existing workflows and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy Partner with finance, operations, and business leaders to support strategic initiatives and organizational objectives Take ownership of accounting operations, identify challenges, and drive solutions through completion Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Active CPA certification required 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience within a publicly traded company environment Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred (5+ years ideal) Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes and leading accounting teams Experience with SAP preferred; candidates with strong ERP system experience will also be considered Proven ability to improve processes, streamline operations, and leverage technology to drive efficiencies Excellent analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
