Location: South Bend, Indiana | Fully Onsite
Salary: $120,000-$150,000
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a highly visible finance organization and play a critical role in shaping the tax strategy of a publicly traded institution . This is an opportunity for a CPA with 5+ years of progressive tax experience to take ownership of key tax initiatives, improve processes, and serve as a trusted resource to senior leadership.


The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, excellent business acumen, and the ability to translate complex tax matters into clear recommendations for leadership. This position will work closely with the C-suite and cross-functional teams while helping drive an efficient, compliant, and forward-looking tax function.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the organization's overall tax strategy , ensuring compliance while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and process improvement.
  
  
• Partner directly with C-suite executives and senior leadership on tax planning, risk management, and strategic business decisions.
  
  
• Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, reporting, and related filings.
  
  
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve tax processes, controls, and reporting .
  
  
• Research and interpret complex tax regulations and communicate their business impact to leadership.
  
  
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, legal, and other business functions on tax-related initiatives.
  
  
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and other professional partners.
  
  
• Support tax planning, forecasting, audits, and other strategic initiatives.
  
  
• Serve as a key internal subject-matter expert and resource for tax matters across the organization.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required.
  
  
• Active CPA license required.
  
  
• 5+ years of progressive tax/accounting experience.
  
  
• Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex tax matters and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly visible role within a complex organization.
