Location: Akron, OH
Work Setting: On-site
Contract Length: 24 months
Pay rate: $18/hr
Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Job Summary
In this role, you will prepare food, help with catering, manage kitchen tasks, and provide great customer service. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced kitchen, with opportunities to grow and take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food safely and efficiently
• Work on the cook line and help clean up at the end of shifts
• Help with catering, including menu planning, food preparation, setup, and delivery
• Make soups, entrees, salad bar items, and grab-and-go foods
• Use food ordering systems to manage supplies and inventory
• Help with vendor orders and invoice processing
• Assist with weekly ordering and planning for cafeteria and catering needs
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and product rotation standards
• Operate grills and other kitchen equipment
• Work independently and handle multiple tasks at once
• Provide strong customer service to internal teams
• Suggest ways to improve kitchen processes and service

• At least 6 years of cooking or food service experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Culinary degree or certification preferred
• ServSafe Manager certification required, or must obtain it within 6 months of hire
• Experience with food ordering systems preferred
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods
• Able to work well both independently and on a team
