Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring strong cardiac monitoring experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

Work in the PCU/Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
Patient population requires telemetry and cardiac monitoring with emergency response capability
Patient ratio of 1:5
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Float to MedSurg units as needed
Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

Active RN license (AL or Compact) required, pending license accepted
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Experience in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown work settings required
Ability to start IVs, manage Heparin protocols, and manage cardiac drips (no titration required)
Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care/management
Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Additional Information

Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care within the PCU/Stepdown unit
Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
Must reside within 60 miles for local candidate rate eligibility
Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to apply
