Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU/Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience.

Details

• PCU/Stepdown and MS/Tele unit setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• EOW (every other weekend) required
• Float to MedSurg units as needed
• Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management
• Manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) currently in hand, pending license accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
• Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to PCU/Stepdown patients
• Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• RTO requests limited to 7 days maximum
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
