About the job Constuction Sales Estimator Job Summary: The Construction Sales Estimator is responsible for generating accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects while driving sales opportunities. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to ensure that clients receive precise estimates and exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating and a proven track record in sales. Key Responsibilities: Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed cost estimates. Perform quantity take-offs and apply appropriate pricing for labor, materials, and equipment. Prepare and submit accurate estimates within established deadlines. Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and project requirements. Provide technical guidance and support during client meetings and presentations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Client Interaction: Present and explain estimates to clients, addressing any concerns or questions. Assist in negotiating contracts and securing new business. Follow up on submitted bids to close sales and gather feedback for future estimates. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to confirm scope and cost accuracy. Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and competitor offerings to ensure estimates are competitive. Identify opportunities for value engineering to offer cost-effective solutions to clients. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications in construction estimation or sales are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on sales. Proven experience in generating and closing sales within the construction industry. Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Proficient in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and CRM tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
