CNC Programmer

Location: Jersey Village, TX

Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $25-$35/hour

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong Mastercam skills to create and optimize CNC programs from customer drawings. This is a hands-on programming role within a job shop environment serving the oil & gas industry , with exposure to AS9100-certified manufacturing and both small and large precision-machined components.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with machinists, supervisors, quality, and other production personnel to ensure jobs are programmed efficiently and correctly. Fanuc controls experience is required , as all machines utilize Fanuc controls.

• Create and modify CNC programs for production machining.

• Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.

• Determine the most efficient machining methods and processes for each part.

• Select appropriate tooling, machining operations, and operation sequences.

• Optimize existing and future CNC programs to improve feeds, speeds, cycle times, and machining efficiency.

• Identify and reduce potential machining and quality risks.

• Communicate programming requirements and standard work information to machinists.

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using strong mathematical skills.

• Troubleshoot programming or equipment-related issues and report operating difficulties to the supervisor.

• Support the company's Quality Management System.

• Participate in company safety meetings as required.

• Maintain an organized and clean programming work area.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors, machinists, quality personnel, and other team members.

• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 3-5+ years of CNC programming experience .

• Strong experience with Mastercam or equivalent CNC programming software.

• Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment .

• Experience programming complex machined components .

• Experience with Fanuc controls .

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.

• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes.

• Strong mathematical, reading, and writing skills.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels.

• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
