Clinical Services Manager – PMHNP or PA-C Apogee Behavioral Medicine 60% leadership | 40% direct patient care

Help clinicians do their best work while staying connected to patient care. Apogee Behavioral Medicine is seeking an experienced psychiatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant to lead clinical services across our clinics. This role combines people leadership, clinical operations, and direct patient care. You'll develop our Clinic Leads, support and coach psychiatric providers, and improve the everyday processes that help patients receive timely, consistent care. You'll also oversee Prompt Care, our rapid-access telehealth service. Approximately 60% of your time will focus on administrative leadership and 40% on patient care, with a caseload aligned to the clinical portion of your role.

Coach providers, support new hires, and help Clinic Leads grow as leaders. Guide a telehealth service that supports new patient intakes, bridge visits, and continuity of care. Work with medical leadership, operations, provider support, quality, recruiting, and HR colleagues.

Clinical leadership and operations — approximately 60% Lead our Clinic Leads. Manage and develop the team, helping them implement improvements, mentor colleagues, and address barriers at their clinics. Help teams adopt changes consistently. Guide daily delivery and performance of our rapid-access telehealth service, including intakes, short-term bridge visits, and daytime refill and in-basket coverage for providers on PTO. Coach providers and support performance. Set clear expectations, use performance and productivity metrics to identify needs, and provide timely feedback, training, and documented follow-up. Partner with the System Medical Director on clinical-practice concerns. Help new prescribers succeed. Lead onboarding and provide EHR support as new clinicians transition to independent work. Monitor continuing medical education participation and address gaps. Support staffing and continuity. Review provider performance and report results, barriers, and improvement priorities to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations. Direct patient care and clinical support — approximately 40% Maintain a psychiatric caseload appropriate to your allocated clinical time. Serve as backup to the Provider Support Manager for crisis monitoring and response.

Current, unrestricted North Carolina licensure as a physician assistant or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, with applicable PA-C or PMHNP-BC certification and active DEA registration. At least three years of clinical experience as a psychiatric advanced practice provider. At least two years of experience leading clinical support staff or providers. Experience improving and standardizing workflows and using metrics to guide performance. The ability to give constructive feedback, address performance concerns, and help colleagues develop. A collaborative leadership approach and commitment to professional medical ethics and patient-centered care. Familiarity with TMS, Spravato, and REMS programs is preferred, as is an MBA, MHA, or formal management training.
