APCT | Acute Care Patient Care Technician - NA-C

Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry support, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with patient mobility and hygiene. You will be an essential member of the healthcare team, contributing to high-quality patient experiences and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant, supporting nursing staff and physicians.
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, respond promptly to call lights, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Support administrative duties including accurate documentation, scheduling procedures, and maintaining patient room supplies.
• Participate actively in teamwork, training, and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably acute care.
• Telemetry experience is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license in the state of Washington.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.

• Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.
• Proficiency with technology including electronic medical records and telemetry equipment.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry varying weights, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks consistent with patient care duties.
