Project Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate accounting, cost management, and financial reporting. Duties Manage and oversee all financial transactions related to construction projects, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries. Conduct detailed cost analysis and cost management to monitor project budgets and forecast financial outcomes accurately. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, cash flow statements, and project profitability assessments. Reconcile balance sheets and perform account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy across accounting software. Implement and maintain internal controls in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to safeguard company assets. Analyze financial concepts including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting standards relevant to construction projects. Support forecasting efforts by collecting data, analyzing trends, and interpreting financial reports to inform project planning and decision-making. Qualifications Proven experience in financial accounting within the construction or manufacturing industry with a strong understanding of cost accounting analysis. Proficiency with VISTA Accounting Software is a plus. Demonstrated ability in data analysis using spreadsheets and business intelligence tools for financial report writing and Excel data analysis. Strong skills in cash flow analysis, budget management, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Excellent communication skills for interpreting complex financial reports and collaborating across departments. Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and cost management tasks efficiently.
