Trading Risk & Control – FX & Derivatives
Location: New York, NY
A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced professional to join its Capital Markets Trading Risk & Control team. This role offers direct exposure to the trading floor, supporting the valuation and risk management of a diverse derivatives portfolio across major global currencies.
Working closely with traders, quants, and financial analysts, the successful candidate will play a key role in daily portfolio valuation, market risk analysis, P&L attribution, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor global financial markets and assess how market movements affect trading portfolios.
- Perform daily valuation of derivatives portfolios, including mark-to-market (MTM), Greeks, and P&L attribution.
- Maintain and validate yield curves and market data inputs used in daily valuations.
- Conduct monthly valuation analysis using external data sources and internal pricing models.
- Apply a strong understanding of interest rate derivatives valuation methodologies, models, and market risk.
- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies while enhancing existing processes and controls.
- Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, and financial analysts to support trading floor operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of Fixed Income experience.
- Strong understanding of derivatives valuation, Greeks, mark-to-market, and P&L attribution.
- Proficiency in Python and Excel VBA.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently under pressure, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
