Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead emergency planning efforts for the institution. This includes management of the emergency operations plan and related documents.
Assist the Office in setting strategy for drafting, implementing, and revising all emergency plans for the institution.
Facilitate planning meetings related to emergency planning initiatives.
Assist the department in planning, implementing, and evaluating emergency preparedness training and exercises.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in emergency management, risk management, business continuity, or related fields; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

Advanced degree in a related field.
Five years of experience in emergency management (or related field).
Experience in emergency/disaster operations is highly beneficial.
Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.
Experience in drafting emergency operations plans and related documents.
Knowledge of federal, state, local, and UNC System Office planning guidance to include CPG 101, EMAP standards, and System directives.
Experience with emergency management-related software or other applicable systems.
Experience in emergency management at an educational institution.
Applicable NIMS / ICS training.
