The Vintage Dish is looking for an exceptional independent contractor to support our vintage tableware rental operations, event fulfillment, inventory management, and business growth. We curate beautiful collections of vintage and heirloom china, glassware, serving pieces, and other timeless treasures for weddings, celebrations, and special events. We're searching for someone who shares our genuine appreciation for vintage treasures, has an exceptional eye for detail, and understands that preserving these pieces takes a whole lot more than simply admiring them. This opportunity is equal parts beautiful china, meticulous inventory management, physical work, and entrepreneurial possibility. We're looking for someone who can help us manage the business today—and potentially help us grow it into something much bigger tomorrow. What You'll Be Doing Inventory Management & Care Prepare, count, inspect, pack, unpack, wash, and carefully store vintage china and specialty rental pieces. Maintain meticulous inventory records, ensuring every piece is accounted for. Follow established dish handling, washing, packing, and storage practices. Identify and document missing, damaged, or misplaced inventory. Help maintain an organized, efficient, and exceptionally well-cared-for collection. Event Rentals & Logistics Prepare and fulfill rental orders for weddings, private celebrations, and special events. Load, transport, unload, and handle crates and totes weighing 40+ pounds. Assist with deliveries, event setups, breakdowns, and pickups. Support events throughout Central Florida and occasionally out of town. Be available for assignments that may involve weekends, evenings, late nights, and travel. Marketing & Business Growth Attend networking events and connect with wedding planners, venues, caterers, and event professionals. Help develop engaging social media content that showcases our collection and inspires future clients. Assist with rental quotes, client inquiries, and follow-up. Identify opportunities to increase bookings, expand relationships, and introduce The Vintage Dish to new audiences. Bring ideas, initiative, and enthusiasm to the business. Our Absolute Non-Negotiables You MUST: Be located in Central Florida , ideally within 45 minutes of Maitland. Be exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and careful. Have a genuine LOVE for vintage items and a deep appreciation for heirloom china. Be dedicated to accurate inventory control and management. Understand that many of our pieces are fragile, unique, and irreplaceable. Be willing and able to lift and carry crates and totes weighing more than 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Be completely comfortable washing large quantities of dirty dishes after events. Be committed to following our established dish handling and preservation standards. Be willing to accept event assignments involving weekends, late nights, and out-of-town travel. Be conscientious, accountable, and committed to doing things correctly—not just quickly.
