DISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICS

The Associate Manager of Enrollment Strategy and Recruitment actively engages with prospective students, schools, and community partners while also leveraging CRM systems and enrollment data to guide strategy and improve results. The role requires the ability to translate data insights into targeted outreach efforts that strengthen the student pipeline from inquiry to enrollment and beyond. In addition to representing the institution at events and building external relationships, this position plays a key role in aligning recruitment efforts with student retention, completion, and workforce outcomes. Working independently and in close collaboration with marketing, academic leadership, and workforce partners, this role serves as a critical bridge between outreach activities and institutional strategy, driving enrollment growth and student success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans targeting prospective students, including high school, adult, and workforce populations. Represent the College at high schools, career fairs, community events, and employer sites. Coordinate campus visits, orientations, and informational sessions for prospective students and their families in face‑to‑face and/or virtual settings. Build and maintain relationships with school counselors, community organizations, and workforce partners. Collaborate with marketing on outreach campaigns, communications, and recruitment materials. Support the Director of Enrollment Management in initiatives centered around a CRM implementation to optimize student communications and enrollment workflows. Design and implement communication plans, campaigns, and automation to improve engagement conversion rates. Develop, support, and maintain dashboards and reports tracking recruitment and enrollment performance (inquiries, applications, admits, enrollments, and yield). Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the student lifecycle. Analyze data trends to inform recruitment strategies and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide regular reports and actionable recommendations to the Director of Enrollment Management, the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Workforce Innovation, and other executive leadership. Track and analyze student retention, completion, credential attainment, transfer, and employment outcomes. Support accreditation, program review, and institutional reporting requirements. Identify trends among at‑risk students and collaborate with internal partners on intervention strategies. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with student success and workforce needs. Maintain relationships with employers and workforce agencies to support student placement and program alignment. Track job placement outcomes and coordinate on internships, apprenticeships, and workforce initiatives including customized training. Support workforce grants and reporting requirements as needed. Track graduate employment status and job placement rates while developing and implementing alumni follow‑up systems and reporting on program‑level employment outcomes in alignment with accrediting and institutional standards. Compare program outcomes against regional and national labor market benchmarks, including wage and earnings analyses, and then work with marketing to translate the findings into clear ROI messaging for prospective students. Analyze and survey labor market data to ensure program offerings align with high‑demand, high‑wage careers and to identify gaps between program offerings and workforce demand. Build and maintain dashboards tracking ROI indicators (employment, wages, completion rates, licensure pass rates, etc.) while providing regular ROI reports to leadership that reflect data accuracy, consistency, and transparency across the College. Identify programs with strong and weak ROI performance and recommend strategic improvements (e.g., curriculum updates, advising changes) to improve student outcomes. Translate outcomes data into clear, student‑facing ROI messaging to reflect and support the marketing team with verified outcomes statistics; develop success stories that connect education recruitment directly to career and wage outcomes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typically, working conditions include office and school environments, as well as public locations. The work requires the use of safe work practices with office equipment and the observance of general safety and traffic regulations. Exposure to typical traffic conditions and hazards when visiting other campuses or other locations.

USUAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The following physical demands are typically used to perform this job’s essential duties and responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits for extended periods and regularly uses manual dexterity when working on the computer, typing, and performing other related tasks. The employee frequently stands and walks when attending college fairs, giving presentations, and conducting orientations. Additionally, public presentations will be required along with meetings with industry partners. The employee regularly talks and hears when working with students and the general public. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision, with the ability to adjust focus when typing or reading a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Knowledge of: principles and procedures for recruiting high school‑aged prospective college students; SSCC programs and courses; enrollment procedures, tuition costs, class size, and scholarship and financial aid information; standard office practices and procedures; English grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation; business letter and reporting formats. Ability to: maintain and promote good public relations; maintain confidential and sensitive information; exhibit a pleasant public manner and telephone etiquette; originate correspondence; work independently; exhibit attention to detail; originate an attractive and functional typing format; organize and file documents according to alphabetical, numerical and subject order; apply ethical standards to work situations; make work decisions in accordance with SSCC’s values; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, and promote a harassment‑free environment; embrace and support constructive change; work efficiently and effectively to improve college operations; consistently follow safety and security procedures and practices; develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, learning community, associates, and general public; contribute toward building a positive team working environment; treat others with respect as a representative of SSCC. Skill in: recruiting; public speaking; organizing and coordinating programs; typing; application of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; application of the student information system, and other job‑related software; operation of standard office equipment; office organization; creation of functional, professional electronic report formats; verbal and written communication. Knowledge of how to uplift and manage new services such as Handshake, Credly, and other applications for the betterment of the Southern State population. Must be fluid in technology adaptations, implementations, and trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is a Bachelor's Degree. Applicant must successfully pass required background checks, in accordance with Southern State Community College’s policies and procedures and applicable laws. Ability to document identity and employment eligibility as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements. Preferred experience within a public higher education system, CRM platforms, and enrollment analytics or predictive modeling.
