This is a full-time day shift position (12 hour) in Charlottesville, VA. One of the best staffed Medical/Surgical units in the state!**Ideal candidates will have previous acute nursing experience in a similar scope**Up to 15k Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates!**Cornell 3** is a 24-bed medical-surgical unit focused on gastrointestinal care, addressing conditions like gallbladder diseases, appendicitis, bowel obstructions, and procedures such as colon resections and ostomy creation. The unit also cares for patients with sepsis, respiratory issues, and diabetes complications, maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:6 for personalized care. It is an ideal environment for both experienced nurses and new graduates seeking skill development. Cornell 3 promotes a collaborative atmosphere with a multidisciplinary team and supports professional growth, blending the resources of a major medical center with a community hospital's warmth, aiming to make a meaningful difference in patient lives.* Sentara Martha Jefferson has under a 12.6% RN Turnover rate* Patient Satisfaction scores are highest in the system at Martha Jefferson* Sentara Martha Jefferson Foundation education assistance program up to $32,500* Free Parking at Sentara Martha JeffersonThe Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
