Senior Surgical Technician - Per Diem Variable Senior Surgical Technician - Operating Room at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro in San Pedro, CA. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour, Variable shifts. The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment. Provides patient care to the following age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle and older adults. Qualifications and Requirements Coursework/Training: Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school. Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. 3 years Surgical Technician in Operating Room. Shift and Compensation Job Shift: Variable. Pay Range: $33.37 - $52.74 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
