National Association of Hispanic Publications District of Columbia, United States Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States Salary: $180000 per year Employment Type: Full time, Posted: 08.05.2026 Job Description Executive Director at the National Association of Hispanic Publications Location: Remote in the U.S. Compensation: $180,000/year base salary + benefits + performance-based variable compensation About NAHP The National Association of Hispanic Publications, Inc. (NAHP) furthers the excellence, recognition, and use of Hispanic Publications and provides them access to professional development opportunities to better serve and empower Hispanic communities. NAHP is a non-partisan trade advocacy organization representing the leading Spanish-language publications serving 41 markets in 39 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, with a combined circulation of over 23 million. NAHP was founded in 1982 to promote Spanish-language publications, the most effective medium to reach the fast-growing Hispanic community. Membership is open to Spanish-language and Hispanic-owned newspapers, magazines and related media as well as businesses that offer products and services to this market throughout the United States. Geographically, NAHP members span the country, with a concentration in areas of large Hispanic populations. NAHP members produce over 15 billion pages of information annually. The Opportunity NAHP stands at a defining moment in its history. After more than four decades as a respected volunteer-led association, NAHP is embarking on an ambitious transformation to become a professionally staffed, nationally influential nonprofit organization. The Executive Director will be the organization’s first chief executive , charged with turning that vision into reality. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead NAHP through this next chapter by building the organization’s operational foundation, driving strategic growth, expanding revenue, strengthening member engagement, and elevating NAHP’s national voice and impact. This is a rare opportunity for a visionary, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in building organizations from the ground up. The Executive Director will help define not only how NAHP operates, but also how it serves Hispanic publishers and strengthens the future of Hispanic media for decades to come. The Executive Director will hire and lead NAHP’s inaugural professional staff, serving as the primary liaison between the Board and the growing organization while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture. Beyond day-to-day leadership, the Executive Director will build the systems, partnerships, and long‑term strategy that position NAHP as the premier national organization supporting Hispanic media and the communities it serves. Why This Role Matters Now Hispanic media plays a vital role in informing, connecting, and advocating for communities across the country. As trusted local news organizations navigate rapid changes in technology, business models, and audience behavior, NAHP has an unprecedented opportunity to become the national convener, advocate, and capacity-building organization for Hispanic publishers. The Executive Director will help shape that future. What You Will Build Strategic Leadership & Organizational Setup Establish the organizational model, systems, and processes to transition NAHP into a modern, sustainable nonprofit. Develop and execute a two-year? three-year? strategic plan in collaboration with the Board. Define performance metrics, accountability systems, and reporting structures within the organization. Lead all fundraising efforts, including grants, sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and earned revenue initiatives. Grow revenue at least by 18 percent in the first year, and continue to grow revenue year over year to ensure longevity and establish NAHP as a self‑sustaining nonprofit. Work closely with the Operations & Revenue Manager to strengthen NAHP Media’s national ad sales and expand the NAHP Ad Network. Partner with the Membership & Program Manager to design tiered membership models, expand benefits, and grow dues-based revenue. Board Relations & Governance Report directly to the NAHP Board of Directors, ensuring alignment on mission, goals, and financial health. Engage board members in fundraising and strategic initiatives. Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance, fiscal management, and reporting standards. Hire, supervise, and support two new staff members(Membership & Program Manager, Operations & Revenue Manager). Build a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive organizational culture. Provide mentorship and professional development for staff. External Relations & Partnerships Serve as NAHP’s public face, representing the organization with funders, corporate sponsors, media outlets, and policymakers. Build and manage relationships with strategic partners, allies, and peer organizations (e.g., NAHJ, LION, INN). Elevate NAHP’s national visibility as the voice of Hispanic media in the U.S. Member Engagement & Growth Ensure NAHP delivers high‑value programs, training, and services that strengthen members’ operations, revenue, and audience growth. Oversee initiatives to recruit new members and expand NAHP’s reach across Hispanic media sectors (print, digital, radio, newsletters, podcasts). Position NAHP as a critical resource for Hispanic media leaders navigating industry challenges. This is an opportunity to build an institution that will strengthen Hispanic media, expand access to trusted information, and ensure Spanish-language and Hispanic‑owned publishers continue to thrive for generations to come. Job Requirements Qualifications Proven leadership experience in media companies, nonprofit organizations, or membership associations. Strong track record of fundraising, revenue development, and partnership-building. Demonstrated experience in building and managing nonprofit boards Demonstrated experience in organizational design and setup for nonprofits; including compliance, establishing standards of practice and board management Entrepreneurial and hands‑on, with the ability to establish new systems, structures, and culture. Deep understanding of Hispanic/Latino communities and local media ecosystems. Excellent communication, relationship management, and strategic planning skills. Commitment to equity, diversity, and community‑centered leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr
