Step into a vital role supporting student success as a Cognitive Impairment Teacher, working in a highly collaborative, supportive school environment. As a special education professional, you’ll help guide and support a young student with specialized needs, leveraging your expertise in both cognitive impairment and autism spectrum strategies to make a lasting difference. What we’re looking for:

• Valid CI (Cognitive Impairment) teaching certification—required
• Experience or strong interest in working with students with autism spectrum disorder
• Classroom management skills and commitment to positive behavioral approaches
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, mental health professionals, and support staff
• Dedication to developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to onsite instruction and engagement

Your key responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to one elementary-aged student (8 or 9 years old)
• Create, implement, and monitor individualized educational strategies to address cognitive and behavioral needs
• Work closely with a full team of educators and specialists to support mental health, behavioral goals, and academic achievement
• Collect and analyze student progress, documenting outcomes and adjusting interventions as needed
• Foster a safe, nurturing learning environment that encourages growth and positivity

This role runs Monday through Friday, with a schedule of 7:30 am to 2:45 pm until June 11, 2027. You’ll be based at a modern educational center, where you’ll become an integral part of the student’s support network.
