Project Overview:The Senior Planner is responsible for leading and supporting the development of North American based projects which can include the proposal phase to supporting existing projects in execution. Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to planning/scheduling challenges. Develops, interprets, and executes procedures, objectives, and standards applicable to schedule control and analysis activities. Reviews contract drafts for adequacy of cost and scope definition and Project Controls requirements. Coordinates development of data in support of negotiations. Job Summary:In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. The Senior Planner is responsible for schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time. #LI-ML1 Major Responsibilities:Prepares schedule data for proposals or contract negotiationsEstablishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialtyPerforms schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditurePerforms schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialtiesDevelops critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the scheduleMonitors and validates subcontractor schedulesEvaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvementsEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, construction management, business or related field and minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present information to management and clientsProficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office 365 software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholdersAbility to multi-task and prioritize workload to ensure effective project deliveryAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team atmosphereTechnical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction functions and general business techniquesDemonstrated understanding of project controls core processes and procedures including, cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, trend reporting and information managementExperience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projectsTotal Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
