ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, specifically within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Psychiatric/Overdose cases
  • Gastrointestinal bleeds
  • Cancer surgeries (e.g., esophagectomy)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
• Titrate and manage drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess and plan patient care.
• Conduct and interpret telemetry readings using centralized monitoring systems.
• Assist in the delivery of patient education and support to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required.
• Certifications Required:
  
  
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Valid driver's license required for identification of candidates beyond 50 miles radius.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive demeanor.

Work Environment

This unit operates under high patient volumes and requires flexibility to adapt to changing patient care needs. The successful candidate will be committed to continuous learning and improvement, possessing a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.

Schedule and Orientation

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Unit-specific orientation: 2 shifts
