Absolute Energy is hiring a licensed Journeyman Residential Electrician to join our team in Waynesboro, VA. This isn't a repetitive, one-task role. Our crews handle everything from service calls and panel upgrades to new construction rough-ins, standby generators, EV chargers, and solar and battery storage systems. What You'll Do

• Run residential service calls — troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, panel and service upgrades, fixture and device replacement
• Rough-in and trim new construction homes, additions, and remodels
• Install and service standby generators, transfer switches, and associated wiring
• Install EV chargers, solar PV systems, and battery storage
• Read and work from blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications
• Ensure all work meets the National Electrical Code and Virginia state requirements
• Coordinate with inspectors, general contractors, and other trades on the jobsite
• Communicate clearly with homeowners — explain the problem, the fix, and the cost in plain language
• Mentor apprentices and helpers assigned to your jobs
• Keep your truck, tools, and inventory organized and job-ready
• Complete work orders, material lists, and documentation accurately

What You Need

Required:

Valid Virginia Journeyman Electrician license (DPOR) — or an active license from a reciprocal state that you're willing to convert

3+ years of hands-on residential electrical experience

Working knowledge of the current National Electrical Code

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics

Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders; able to lift 50+ lbs

Professional, respectful presence in customers' homes

Reliable and on time — our customers plan their day around us

Nice to Have (we'll train the right person):

• Virginia Master Electrician license
• Generator install and service experience (Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton)
• Solar PV, battery storage, or EV charger installation experience
• NABCEP certification
• OSHA 10 or 30
• Prior service/troubleshooting experience with direct customer interaction
