Maintenance Coordinator

This position consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, scheduled Wednesday through Saturday. Hours: Weds–Fri: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM Saturday: Either 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (business need dependent) The Maintenance Coordinator supports the maintenance team by helping ensure fleet equipment remains safe, operational, and available to meet business demands. This role is responsible for coordinating emergency roadside repair activities for a fleet of trucks while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting drivers in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a point of contact for breakdown and repair situations, communicating critical information to maintenance personnel to expedite repairs and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate emergency roadside service providers and monitor repair progress through completion.
• Ensure all repair-related documentation and invoices are obtained and submitted in a timely manner.
• Accurately enter and maintain maintenance and breakdown information within company-approved software systems.
• Communicate breakdown status updates and key details to terminal personnel to support freight recovery efforts and operational planning.
• Assist drivers with arranging transportation, lodging, and other logistical needs when equipment failures occur.
• Maintain detailed records of breakdown events, repair actions, and open issues to ensure smooth shift-to-shift communication and continuity.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance processes and response times.

Requirements:

• Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and internal departments to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck systems and hydraulic equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Comfortable learning and utilizing web-based maintenance and fleet management systems (such as TMT, OVISS, or similar platforms).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to maintaining a safety-focused work environment and promoting a positive workplace culture that supports operational success.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with heavy-duty truck maintenance, fleet operations, roadside assistance coordination, or a related field preferred.
