Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd Shift)

Location: McHenry, IL (833 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL 60050)

Inova Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Technician for one of our valued customers. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and able to work across multiple maintenance disciplines.

Pay & Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday Thursday, 2:45 PM 11:15 PM, $25.32/hr.

3rd Shift: Monday Thursday, 10:45 PM 7:15 AM, $26.32/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on production equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Dismantle equipment, identify defective parts, and complete repairs or replacements
• Operate shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, and welding tools
• Maintain and improve equipment reliability through preventive maintenance practices
• Operate forklifts and hydraulic lifts as needed
• Research and source parts, tools, and supplies for maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation
• Assist with inventory tracking of maintenance parts
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Willing to train; no formal education required

Experience Preferred (5+ years in): Manufacturing maintenance, electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting and repair, mechanical systems, industrial operations, process improvement and problem-solving

Skills & Competencies

Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex equipment issues

Time management and organizational skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP

Strong reading comprehension and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 55 lbs; moving heavier items with equipment)

Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment

Exposure to heat, humidity, moving machinery, and airborne particles

Occasional exposure to heights, outdoor conditions, and hazardous materials

Required use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, and other equipment as needed.
