Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech Language Pathologist, serving students in a school-based setting near Watertown, CT. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and extends through the 2026-2027 school year, although part-time options may also be considered to best fit your schedule and career goals. You'll play a crucial role in helping students reach their full communication potential and thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current SLP - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) credential required
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Relevant experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ speech, language, and communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based strategies
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports student growth and success
