About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice Provost for Student Success to be its inaugural leader in this transformative role. The successful candidate will be the chief strategist for student success, with a focus on enhancing student persistence, retention, graduation, and career readiness. This visionary and collaborative leader will be responsible for advancing a comprehensive, institution-wide vision that prepares students for academic, personal, and professional success, as well as for civic engagement. The role involves providing leadership for key student success functions, creating a more integrated student success ecosystem, and leading the development and implementation of a university-wide student success strategy. The SVPSS will also be tasked with establishing measurable goals, strengthening accountability for student outcomes, and fostering collaboration among academic and administrative units. Candidates for the SVPSS position at the company should be highly visible and influential leaders with a proven track record of driving meaningful change in complex organizations. A deep commitment to students and an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges of a multi-campus, land-grant institution are essential. The role requires a leader with strategic vision, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate ambitious goals into measurable outcomes. While the position is open to candidates from various professional backgrounds, the company is also considering a tenured faculty appointment for candidates with the appropriate academic credentials and experience.
