Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Valid state RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: Must be comfortable with CPAP/BiPAP Ability to manage medication titrations Charge-capable on nights Willingness to float to different units as needed Description: Seeking an experienced RN for a mixed acuity unit. This unit primarily supports medicine services. The role involves caring for a variety of stepdown and medical/surgical patients. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Candidates must be skilled in using CPAP/BiPAP machines. Understanding of medication titration processes is necessary. Must have the capability to take charge during night shifts. Floating to different units within the organization will be required, as needed. The documentation system used is EPIC. Additional skills include chest tube care, feeding tube management, and knowledge of heparin protocols. Candidates will need to interpret dysrhythmias and manage non-invasive airway techniques. This role will include working with PCA and telemetry equipment. Understanding of wound care and the use of wound vacs is also essential. The unit is a 31-bed medical-surgical unit with approximately 25 patients daily. The interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as pharmacy, respiratory services, and physical therapy. Candidates should expect to encounter a range of patient diagnoses, including COPD and anemia.
