Closing Specialist

Overview Position Overview A growing title services company providing residential and commercial real estate closing services across New York and New Jersey is seeking a Closing Specialist to join their Toms River, NJ office. Having built a strong New York operation over the past two years, the company recently expanded into New Jersey and is looking to grow its new local team. This is a foundational hire, the second team member in the NJ office, who will work closely with the Office Manager to handle real estate closing transactions from start to finish. The ideal candidate is professional, responsive, and comfortable working with numbers and legal documents, with the ability to eventually manage full transactions independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Manage real estate closing transactions from order intake through completion, including document review, funding, and closing statement preparation Communicate professionally and responsively with attorneys, lenders, and other transaction parties, providing quick turnaround on all correspondence Review legal documents and property requirements to ensure transactions meet all necessary conditions Prepare closing statements, including calculating incoming and outgoing funds Process fundings for completed transactions Maintain availability for time-sensitive client and lender needs, including brief after-hours check-ins during busy periods Provide in-office coverage of the New Jersey office through the end of the business day (generally 5:00-6:00 PM) to support ongoing transactions Build strong working relationships with attorneys, lenders, and other industry contacts to support the office’s continued growth Take ownership of transactions with minimal oversight once trained, managing multiple files simultaneously Qualifications Professional office experience strongly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with attorneys, lenders, and clients by phone and email Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Excel) and comfort learning new software and systems Comfortable working with numbers and reviewing legal and financial documents Highly responsive, professional, and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and eventually manage full transactions independently Prior title insurance or real estate closing experience is a plus, but not required – hands-on training is provided Full-time, in-office availability required (including availability until 6:00 PM) Compensation & Benefits Starting $27-$30/hour (based on experience) Opportunity to transition to a salaried role as responsibilities and results increase Hands-on training provided Company-provided technology to support outside standard office hours, as needed Opportunity to help build out a growing New Jersey office, with significant potential for growth as the team expands About the Employer This role is for a growing title services company providing comprehensive title searches, issue resolution, and full closing support for residential and commercial real estate transactions across New York and New Jersey.
