Position Details
- Job Title: Medical Assistant II
- Location: Roseland, NJ (Onsite)
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Remote Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour/ based on experience
- Employment Type: Contract (W2)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and treatments.
- Obtain and document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
- Conduct EKGs and assist with other routine clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
- Prepare and clean examination rooms and sterilize instruments.
- Answer incoming calls and assist with patient inquiries.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patients and visitors.
- Assist with general administrative and front desk responsibilities.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN.
- Phlebotomy experience and ability to perform blood draws.
- Experience performing EKGs.
- Prior medical office or clinical experience.
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a physician practice, clinic, or outpatient setting.
- Front desk, patient scheduling, and insurance verification experience.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing program preferred.
- Relevant healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
