Property Accountant

Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of an assigned group of operating entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at the transaction level.

Responsibilities:

Record daily financial transactions including cash receipts, vendor invoices, and tenant payments
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for assigned properties
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned accounts
Maintain cash ledgers and support monthly close processes
Assist in preparation of monthly property financial statements and supporting workpapers
Track and process tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and lease-related charges
Maintain organized and complete accounting files in accordance with Company standards
Communicate with property management and operations staff to resolve coding and transactional questions

Desired Skills and Attributes:

Attention to detail and strong organizational habits
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and transaction flow
Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms, particularly Excel
Knowledge of Yardi (or similar property management software) a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a deadline-driven environment
