The Opportunity

StateStreet Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and handling accounts receivable functions for a portfolio of companies within the organization.

This position is well suited for a recent accounting graduate or an experienced accounting professional looking to expand their accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned companies
Record daily transactions and post journal entries
Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Post tenant receipts and maintain accounts receivable records
Review lease renewals and ensure charges agree with lease terms
Work with property managers to resolve account discrepancies
Assist with special accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field with significant accounting coursework, or equivalent accounting experience
Understanding of basic accounting principles, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

Preferred:

Experience with Yardi or other property-management software
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and troubleshoot formulas
Experience working with multiple entities
