Job DescriptionRequisition ID94497DepartmentTech Data AI VenturesJob FunctionTech Data AI VenturesLocationNew York,New York,United StatesRole Location DesignationHybrid - 3 days per weekLocation Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per weekRole Overview:The Business Analyst will play a foundational role on a newly formed Discovery team, focused on uncovering, documenting, and analyzing existing business processes that support life insurance policy administration and related operations.This role is focused on deep process discovery, institutional knowledge capture, and fact‑based clarity to enable modernization, simplification, and system replacement efforts. The analyst will work closely with business SMEs, product owners, and technology partners to establish a clear and shared understanding of how work is performed today (“as‑is”) and where complexity, risk, and opportunity exist.What You’ll Do:Business Process Discovery & DocumentationLead discovery of existing end‑to‑end business processes across legacy and modern systemsConduct interviews, workshops, and working sessions with business and technology SMEsDocument as‑is processes, workflows, decision points, handoffs, controls, and exceptionsIdentify undocumented knowledge, manual workarounds, and service processesAnalysis & InsightAnalyze discovered processes to identify complexity, duplication, risk, and inefficiencyHighlight system dependencies, integration touchpoints, and data handoffsSurface gaps between documented processes and actual executionIdentify candidate areas for simplification, standardization, or eliminationKnowledge Enablement for ModernizationProduce clear, structured artifacts (process maps, narratives, inventories) that can be consumed by:Product teamsArchitects and engineersQA and test teamsProgram and delivery leadershipSupport downstream modernization activities by providing factual process context for:System replacement decisionsDecommissioning strategiesMigration planningScope and dependency definitionStakeholder CollaborationBuild trusted relationships with technical, business and service partnersTranslate complex operational behavior into clear, technology‑agnostic languageCommunicate findings concisely to technical and business audiencesWhat You’ll Bring:Required Skills & Experience7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, or similar role4+ years of experience in Life Insurance or similar industryDemonstrated experience in business process discovery and documentationStrong facilitation and interviewing skills, especially with SMEs and operations teamsAbility to synthesize complex, ambiguous information into clear artifactsExperience working with legacy systems and large enterprise environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in life insurance, financial services, or regulated industriesFamiliarity with policy administration, servicing, underwriting, billing, or claims processesExperience supporting large‑scale modernization or transformation programsComfortable operating without predefined requirements or solutionsPay TransparencySalary Range: $81,000-$115,500Overtime eligible: ExemptDiscretionary bonus eligible: YesSales bonus eligible: NoActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
