Compliance Assistant

Job Summary: Under the direction from the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Assistant's duties are to assist in the monitoring and implementation of F&M Bank's Compliance Management Program. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Assists departments with regulatory compliance questions. Prepares reports as necessary in an accurate and timely manner. Assists with the implementation of policies, procedures, and processes. Performs regulatory compliance monitoring, including but not limited to the bank's deposit and loan operations. Prepares periodic reporting of compliance monitoring results and follow-up to ensure issues are resolved. Maintains and oversees online compliance training Participates in special projects. Attends various committee meetings as needed and provides compliance related feedback Continuously looks for opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned by management. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to use specialized software. Knowledge of banking policies and procedures. Familiarity with required loan documentation, included but not limited to consumer, installment, commercial, and real estate loans. Familiarity with required deposit documentation, included but not limited to consumer and business new account documents Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills; the ability to effectively communicate orally , and in writing Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel required Good organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail, and ability to recognize issues that need additional review Flexibility and ability to multi-task Physical Requirements: This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities: Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Frequent lifting (up to 25 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment). Ability to drive (travel) to other locations Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
