E&C EngineerLocation: Minneapolis, MNOnsite Flexibility: HybridContract Details:Position Type: ContractPay Rate: $50.00–$55.00 / Hour (USD)Shift / Schedule: Flexible start times (e.g., 7:00–3:30 or 8:00–4:30); 8 hours/day; Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remoteTravel Requirements: Occasional travelJob Summary: This is a Project Engineering (E&C Engineer) role supporting capital projects at wind farms across the region (primarily Southwest Minnesota, with sites across MN, SD, and nearby areas). The engineer will manage a portfolio of approximately a dozen projects per year, overseeing the end-to-end project lifecycle at wind facilities. Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce final product. Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.Key Responsibilities:Plan and schedule capital projects at wind farmsOrder equipment and manage contractorsCoordinate with site Operations & Maintenance teamsPerform limited R&D to select optimal equipmentManage a multi-year (5 year) project portfolio with budgeting and forecastingEnsure quality, schedule adherence, and cost controlTravel during construction windows to oversee installations (occasional)Perform desk-based planning and scheduling (opening/planning work orders)Coordinate schedules and field visits with contractorsWork with O&M teams to align prioritiesResearch equipment options and document decisionsConduct budgeting/forecasting and portfolio trackingEducation Requirements:ABET Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred; other engineering disciplines considered)Required Experience:3–7 years of project management or renewables experienceWind, solar, or broader renewables domain experienceWind turbine OEM experience (e.g., Vestas) or on-site wind experience helpfulStrong renewables PM backgrounds considered even without a degree (engineering degree is highly preferred, not required)Required Skills:Project management experienceStrong communication (critical due to multi-site coordination)Ability to work effectively with O&M teamsIndependent problem solving and ownershipPreferred Skills:Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)PE (Professional Engineer) registrationWind (or broader renewables) domain experienceExposure to solar, hydro, or battery projectsComfort with spreadsheets (tools are easy to learn; not a differentiator)Work Environment / Physical Requirements:Occasional travel to wind farm sites across MN, SD, NDHybrid work model: 4 days in office at Marshall Ops Center (Minneapolis area) or alternate Sioux Falls, SD service center; 1 day remoteFree parking available at Marshall and Sioux Falls locationsIndependent frontline project management with minimal day-to-day oversight; high autonomy in assigned projectsCollaborative work across renewables and O&M teamsHybrid work with strong ownership expectationsBenefits:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout GTT: GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
